Welcome to the website for Trinity Methodist Church, Oadby. We hope that you will find that it is a useful source of information.
We strive to be "A Church for All, at the Heart of the Community."
We are a worshipping group of people who are inspired by our faith to serve the community in which we are set.
Do get in touch if you would like to know more. The Minister, webmaster, or Church Stewards would be delighted to hear from you.
Oadby Food Bank operates from our premises fortnightly on Fridays (11:30-12:30)
11th & 25th February, 11th & 25th March
For more details please visit the Food Bank website call 07723 121794 or view the current leaflet.
We’ve always said that the church is the people and not the building. During the Covid pandemic we’ve had to put that to the test as we live out our Christian discipleship in new and different ways. Like everyone else, we have had to adapt to these extraordinary times.
We worship together at 10:30 each Sunday.
To join in person: please arrive in good time, wear a mask, leave contact details for Test & Trace, and sit as directed. We will be following Government guidance to ensure Social Distancing can be maintained. Attend only if you are free of coronavirus symptoms.
To join online: please contact the minister, Rev. Derek McLean on 0116 271 2404 or email our Minister, Reverend Derek McLean for joining instructions. In addition to using computers, tablets and smartphones, it is possible to join the service from a landline telephone.
Alternatively, you can receive materials on paper to allow you to read through the service without attending.
A Circuit evening service takes place online every Sunday at 18:00.
There is also a Holy Communion service at 08:30 on the first Sunday of each month.
We gather for prayer at 10:15 each Saturday.
We are led in prayer for approximately 30 minutes with various members of the church leading this time together. This group is also meeting online only at this time.
If you have a particular concern you would like to be held in prayer, please contact the minister, indicating whether that is confidential or whether you would like it shared more widely for prayer. If you request us to pray for a particular situation, we can circulate it via our prayer chain, through our Members newsletters or during Sunday worship. (If you are asking for prayers for somebody else please let us know that you have permission to share that information.)
Oadby Food Bank has continued to operate throughout with enhanced hygiene controls, a one-way system and increased home delivery. We saw a sharp increase in the number of people needing food in the early stages of this pandemic and a further increase as the furlough scheme draws to a end.
We are open to receive donations every Wednesday 14:00 to 16:00. If you want to make a donation it would be especially welcome at this time. For further information, please call 07723 121794.
Distribution is alternate Fridays 11:30 to 12:30 (see above for dates).
Zeph's Cafe remains a key part of the way the church serves this community. We are delighted to be able to welcome people back to Zeph’s.
Some external groups have resumed use of our premises, whilst others remain suspended or may be meeting in other ways. Please contact the leader of your group for the latest information.
At this time, please consider the safety and health of yourself and others. The resources below may be helpful:
